Cisco 1000 Series Aggregation Services Routers Description
Cisco ASR 1000 Series Aggregation Service Routers offer a Software Defined WAN platform. They aggregate multiple WAN connections and network service including traffic management and encryption, and forward them across WAN connections at speeds of 2.5 to 200 Gbps. The industry-leading high-availability design of the routers includes both hardware and software redundancy. The Cisco ASR 1002-HX Router, and the Cisco ASR 1001–HX Router are the latest additions to Cisco's ASR 1000 Series. Both routers can support speeds up to 100 Gbps in 2-Rack-Unit (2RU), and 60 Gbps for 1-Rack–Unit (1RU). The ASR 1002-HX includes 8 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports (GE) and 8 1 GE ports. It also has the Ethernet Port Adapter slot (EPA) for expansion. The ASR 1001HX has 4 10 GE ports and 8 1 GE port, as well as 4 configurable 10 GE and 1 GE ports.
