Acuity PPM Description

Acuity PPM provides Project Management Teams (PMO's) with lightweight and easy-to-use software to manage the project portfolio. Acuity PPM provides a Work Intake module to support demand management and helps you create and evaluate new project requests through prioritization, financial planning and resource management (capacity planning).

Once a request is approved, project teams can track project progress with centralized status reports, track key milestones, risks, issues, financial plans, decisions, lessons learned, project and portfolio roadmaps, and resource plans in Acuity PPM. This helps leadership teams select the right projects for the organization.

Connect to common Project Management tools such as Jira, Smartsheet, Asana, Wrike, Monday.com, and others.

PMO's don't need complicated and cumbersome software, which is too complex for most users to use. Our modular approach allows PMO's to add functionality as they need it, since most Project Management Offices are at maturity level 1 or 2. This allows you to pay only for what you use and not for what you don’t. That's fair.

    Date: Mar 22 2023

Summary: I highly recommend this product for anyone looking to manage a project portfolio. It provides a high level dashboard designed to keep a pulse of the overall health of a portfolio. In addition, you can drill down on a project level for more detailed information.

Positive: 1. Acuity PPM is easy to use and adopt at all levels within the company. It has many valuable features essential for project portfolio management, is intuitive, visually appealing and gives us the ability to add customized fields to the dashboard without help from IT.
    2. The scorecard allows us to assign a value and risk score to every project based on criteria import to our company. This is key to prioritization and helps us identify what we should be working on.
    3. Their resource capacity module helps identify constraints impacting our project timeline and overall roadmap.
    4. The product offers a dashboard that allows us to keep a pulse on the health of our portfolio and alerts leadership of identified issues and risks.
    5. The status reports are a useful tool that gives us the ability to capture a project's status summary, accomplishments, and next steps. (Prior to Acuity, we were using a Word document for weekly status updates)
    6. Other useful features include a timeline that allows us to add/track project milestones and a section to document key decisions that are made.
    7. Customer service is exceptional, and they are always open feature enhancement suggestions.

Negative: Nothing substantial to share. Acuity PPM does an exceptional job with building suggested features/functionality. We are happy with the product.

    Acuity PPM

    Date: Mar 30 2023

Summary: Capabilities of the application are great.
Easy to use for weekly reporting and allow me keep track of what I've reported in previous weeks/reports very easily.
Like how the various reports are organised and classified.
Like new features and keen to use them as soon as the business is ready.

Positive: Very easy package to use - navigating & updating, creating new reports.
    Intuitive.
Everything from a PM perspective contained within the various tabs.
Easy to share progress, related documents etc with stakeholders.
Easy to navigate to other project status reports which may have an impact or dependency on your project.
    New functionality delivered quite frequently.

Negative: 1. Have encountered an intermittent issue when adding a new risk or issue and app displays blank boxes without a title. Resolution is to shutdown app and restart because if you do try and fill out the blank boxes the risk or issue will not save.
    2. Sometimes when editing a status repot and I've used back space it all the text above is accidentally delete, sometimes a whole paragraph. I have to re-enter updates so have learnt to frequently save the report as I update it.

Acuity PPM Has Changed The Way Our Department Works

    Date: Mar 24 2023

Summary: Acuity is a great tool to give stakeholders a high-level view of the portfolio. PM's can also status out of the tool. It's a simple tool to use and easy to train resources to use as well.

Positive: Great views of projects, great view to show stakeholders and a good reference to show an overall status of projects.

Negative: 1. There are some views and reporting (specific to our company) that I am not able to customize. However, I do have some workarounds in place.
    2. Integration with other tools (export and import data)
    3. Security/Access: Limiting access to certain views based on the resource.
    4. Capacity tool should have more customizations (build in customize shrinkage and also view in hours vs. percent)

    Acuity PPM

    Date: Mar 20 2023

Summary: A very good, reliable, cost-effective product for someone looking to get their feet wet with a PPM solution. Support and development are open to feedback and responsive.

Positive: This product is a good choice for anyone looking to implement a basic PPM resource. It has the basic features we were looking for with regard to our needs for PPM and also had some advanced features (scoring/prioritizing, timelines & milestones, etc.) that turned out to be useful. As with any product like this, there are some up front decisions to be made on how to use it and then some up front configuration work required. But, nothing out of the ordinary. The product is solid and we've had virtually no technical issues with its performance. Support has been very responsive.

Negative: The biggest challenges have been with the timeline & milestone entry / update and with the products import/export or reporting. Nothing terribly bad. The update interface could be a little more user-friendly or elegant. Reporting or exporting of data is a little limited. But, they are working and making progress in that area as both support and product development have been responsive to feedback.

    Acuity Usefullness

    Date: Mar 28 2023

Summary: It's likely an internal problem that sees us have a system is not well regarded. I'm sure we could possibly use it better, but the key project metrics we have in our Financial systems (budgets, forecasts and actuals), all itemised by year and project - as well as key Milestone dates - allow a clear line of sight on how projects, programs and the whole portfolio are progressing. The way we use Acuity, I don't see this being available.

Positive: I'm sure it serves a purpose, but not the way we are using it.

Negative: Doesn't allow effective decisions to be made from a complete range of source data that automatically calculates variances to key metrics, and then presents them in a succinct format.
