    Great for recovering RAW files

    Date: Mar 22 2024

    Summary: Disk Drill has been a game-changer in my experience with data recovery, especially when it came to rescuing R3D files from an SD card that I thought were gone for good. The software's layout is intuitive, guiding you through each step without overwhelming you with technical jargon. What impressed me most was its ability to handle various file types, but particularly R3D files, which are crucial for my video projects. The scanning process was thorough, yet faster than I anticipated, and being able to preview the files before final recovery gave me peace of mind that I was retrieving the right data. Disk Drill didn't just recover files; it saved valuable time and resources, making it an essential tool in my toolkit.

    Positive: - Can recover RAW files from memory cards (including CF and SD cards);
    - Full file preview after drive scanning

    Negative: - You can recover only 500MB of files for free, to recover more you need to upgrade to Pro version

    Cleverfiles Disk Drill Is A RIPOFF!

    Date: Dec 28 2020

    Summary: Horrible experience! They offer a free trial, but they say it recovers a limited number of files. They therefore trick you into buying the Pro version, promising stellar results and lifetime upgrades. This is not inexpensive software! I ran it with the most thorough and aggressive settings possible to recover a 1 TB HDD which had been unintentionally formatted. It took over 10 hours to run the scan! IT DID NOT RECOVER A SINGLE FILE!
    I asked for a refund and was told they do not provide refunds! They 'claim' I had ample opportunity to try the free version before buying. I AM VERY ANGRY! DO NOT BE DRAWN IN BY THIS CROOKED COMPANY!

    Don't get screwed by Disk Drill

    Date: Nov 24 2020

    Summary: Disk Drill will deny your request for a refund and instead lecture you about having not used their software correctly. They will then add insult to injury by referring you to their Terms of Sale page. To make matters even worse, they ridicule you by adding "the great news is that you can enjoy the amazing features of Disk Drill going forward."

    Disk Drill is essentially a ransomware scam. It teases by showing you a list of "recoverable" files, but the end result is a bunch of unusable files. Images aren't viewable and documents are uneditable.

    Disk Drill is like Lucy holding the football for Charlie Brown and then pulling it away at the last second.

    Positive: I purchased the Pro version of Disk Drill after viewing a list of my deleted files with the Free version. I was optimistic my files could be recovered.

    Negative: What Disk Drill fails to inform you BEFORE purchasing is deleted files on an SSD drive are “probably not” recoverable. This means Disk Drill is completely worthless for any modern computer system built within the last 5 years. You only learn this fact AFTER purchase.

    Contacting technical support for help is a waste of time. They will ask you to provide some technical information about your computer and that's when you find out Disk Drill is incapable of recovering deleted files from an SSD drive.
