We support people, the environment, and local economies. Every search counts. Learn how Ecosia users can make a difference in the world. We are proud to be transparent with you. We publish financial reports monthly. These reports show how much money we made through your searches and what percentage went to trees. Ecosia pays no dividends to its owners. All profits are retained within the company and will eventually be used to invest or for tree planting. Ecosia believes that the climate emergency is not the right time to continue business as usual. In 2018, we began building our own solar plants. We have added enough clean energy to our grid to power Ecosia searches using 100% renewable energy.

    Summary: A great experience! Its newer so I expect it'll evolve and improve over time. I've also planted around 200 trees in just 3 days!

    Positive: It feels good being able to help the world - even if only a bit - with each search. I appreciate the platforms transparency with what they do with their money and I would love to see more projects like this!

    Negative: In other search engines, when I click an image it will show me more images related to that image. I would love for it to have that feature! Also when I search up 'calculator' or other tools, having a calculator pop up immediately when I search, or stats, etc, is super useful!

    Summary: Really handy quick and effective and at the end of the day a real good and fresh feel and yet so elegant against Google.

    Positive: Google search UI changes across platforms and on Android apps times of treats you like a kid with minimal results and a lot of empty space whereas Ecosia has a uniform UI across platforms.

    Negative: Could use some work on the picture section also on Android the tree counter resets sometimes.
