rsync Description

rsync, an open-source utility that allows incremental file transfer, is fast and reliable. rsync can be freely downloaded under the GNU General Public License. The public pgp network has the GPG signing key used to sign the release file. If you have key-fetching enabled for your computer, running a regular "gpg—verify" command will automatically grab my key. You can also grab Wayne Davison's gpp key manually. Unix file transfer program rsync can be used. rsync uses "rsync algorithm", which allows for fast file transfer. It sends only the differences between files across the link without requiring that both sets be present at the other end of the link. Optionally, preserves symbolic and hard links, file ownership, permissions and devices, as well as times and times. Internal pipelining reduces latency between multiple files.
