SureSync Description

SureSync is a file replication and synchronization application that provides one-way and multi-way processing in both scheduled and real-time modes.

Multiple editions are available. Standard focuses on scheduled replication and synchronization via UNC paths.

SureSync Pro adds performance enhancing features through the Communications Agent. Features include real-time monitors, delta copies, TCP transfers, compression and encryption. The agent must be installed on a Windows machine.

File Locking that enables real-time collaboration is available in SureSync Managed File Transfer (MFT). A file opened by a user in one office will be read only for users in other offices until changes have been saved and synchronized.

SQL Protection simplifies backups of critical SQL databases and archiving creates versioned file backups.

File Sync - it does what it needs to do!

    Date: Jul 20 2023

Summary: We chose SureSync to replace Windows DFS to synchronise data between servers in 5 separate sites. The granularity, real-time and log views of individual actions meant that SureSync was a huge step up from DFS in terms of manageability and tunability. The product development over the years has ensured that SureSync has become ever more reliable.

Positive: Once set up and with appropriate monitoring in place, it is a solid product. The support from both Open Seas and Soft ware Pursuits has been very good.

Negative: The initial setup was quite involved and complicated. However, with help from Open Seas, we got the configuration that we needed before too long.

Using SureSync since 2006 !! Works like a charm.

    Date: Mar 27 2023

Summary: Robust sync software, it just works !! Using it for over 16 years now....
From v4 to v5 to now using still v6.

Positive: Sync over Internet works well.
In my case, I create offsite backups from Switzerland to Colorado.
    Nightly.

Negative: Preview for Sync jobs has very confusing, bad user interface !!
Take a look at GoodSync, you can immediately understand what gets copied or deleted....

Best file synchronization software so far

    Date: Apr 07 2022

Summary: This is the best file synchronization software I've tested so far. At first glance UI might look unintuitive until you realise the philosophy behind it. After that all becomes clear.

Positive: Flexibility - tasks and jobs can be configured in many ways allowing synchronization including a lot of criterias.
Clarity - in contrast to "well known other solution" SureSync consoles and logs shows actually what the tasks are doing, what files requires attention and why. Lock mechanism also works great after initial file synchronization.

Negative: It is expensive :-) It works like a charm but there's a price tag behind it :-)

Works well but room for improvement

    Date: Sep 21 2023

Summary: SureSync is a significant improvement on DFS-R. It provides good details about replication and alerts when there are issues. We have had some issues with it that have caused some data integrity questions but generally works as expected.

Positive: SureSync is easy enough to setup and maintain. Installation and updates are very straight forward.

The design is not overly complicated but still allows it be deployed the way we need it. There are a lot of configuration options.

Support is always responsive and helps to resolve any issues we have.

Pricing is very attractive when compared to alternative products.

Negative: The GUI looks very dated.

There are lots of configuration options, in some cases too many which causes some confusion.

Sometimes the product stop working and does not alert as expected.

    SureSync version 9

    Date: Aug 22 2023

Summary: Overall this is a very good product, easy to use, and setup is quick and easy.

The support is great. There instructions are easy to follow.

Positive: Suresync is a good product. I like the log files, they provide details of what was moved/copied/deleted.
You can easily check each job and view the status.
Support is excellent! We always received a reply within hours and usually had a fix in less than a day. The instructions provided are very detailed and easy to follow.
The best part is the software is it just works!

Negative: Occasionally it gets hung up. But not very often. When this happens we just run a re-scan and everything is back in sync.

Great tool for traditional file shares.

    Date: Jul 21 2023

Summary: If you need a way to syncronise / backup large fileshares this is an ideal tool. Think of it as a enterprise Goodsync / beyondcompare.

Positive: Hugely customisable with every option you could think of. Options out of the box for handling system and hidden files.
Light installer with a fully offline version if needed.
    Easy licencing.
    Good support.

Negative: Windows service on the agents can randomly stop and need restarting and you will need a way of monitoring for that in a large environment.

    SureSync

    Date: Apr 07 2022

Summary: The application can be used to implement multiple file synchronization scenarios and works properly.

Positive: The user interface is easy to use.
The application has a logical structure.
Varied configuration options, many different scenarios can be implemented.
