    Was burned once, didn't have this tool, the next time we were ready

    Summary: We had a client who shortly after onboarding some switches were rebooted due to a power event, this caused us to lose the running-config and it turned out the saved configuration was not viable.

    The next time we audited a client, we did a trial of this software and were happy we did. IT exceeded our expectations, greatly simplified the onboarding process and troubleshooting of network issues.

    Positive: - Simple to deploy
    - Quick Diagrams
    - Alerting
    - Proper SNMP Alerting (shame on you RMM platform)
    - Pulls running configs from supported devices

    Negative: - No Historical trail (a device disappears after x hours offline)
    - A Tad Pricy
    - Switches without LLDP /SNMP become 'inferred' objects, that while you can manually create a switch it's difficult to do so.

    Negative: Although robust, Auvik can be complex for new users or smaller companies not needing to utilise every aspect. There is a new training portal although can be time consuming for new team members, so when choosing it's worth taking this into consideration. once mastered, Auvik is one of the best network monitoring tools.
